Little Heron Arts Collective

Hello everyone!

No, you’re not lost. This is still 100 Things. I just wanted to take a second to share about another project I’ve been working on!

Little Heron Arts Collective is a place for writers, artists, and creatives of all kinds to come together to share their work in the hopes of building a community of like-minded individuals. From personal essays, to flash fiction, to photo essays, photography, and art, we want to hear from you.

LHAC is a project that has been a long time in the making. Our goal is to be a welcoming face to new creatives and veterans alike, while providing a unique voice to the arts world that gives meaning to the minutia of day-to-day life.

It is all too easy to become disconnected and swept up in day-to-day life, missing the beauty and individuality of our experiences. This publication is a call to action to pause and reflect, to seek and give meaning to the things that make up our lives.

We want to collect pieces that stress the particulars that make up the whole, the meaningfulness found in specificity.

These meaningful details could be sounds, smells, textures, sights, people, places, time, geography, language, etc. We also welcome examinations of why a work of art, or story, or event resonated with you — any personal insights and perspectives you can bring. Pieces that result from this exercise will be very human and individual, and we hope emotionally nourishing, both to create and to consume. You don’t need to convince us to hold the same beliefs as you, seeing you hold them is enough.

If any of this sounds up your alley, we are currently accepting submissions to be featured on LHAC through the link below.
